Old Pheasant mount wattles

I have seen Pheasant mounts 15 years old with drooping wattles and wide open beaks. How can I be asured that mine won't look like that 15 years from now? I use the birds head, mould with clay and split wattles but don't use any glue. Should I glue them to the clay?

Bird jaws dont drop over time.

The skin is far to brittle for the lower jaw to drop. If the wattles are sagging and the mouth open it was mounted that way.

Thanks John, I think mine will be fine at least I hope they will.I was hoping that was the case and from what you said it makes sense.
