I am a newbie just finishing up on my 3rd whitetail mount.Anyway I tryied something that I thought up but have'nt heard of with pretty good results.I took a set of plastic earliners, trimed the inner base off & used these as a mould to lay my bondoed ears on as they set,I worked the bondo around until partialy set, holding ear firmly against the ear liner then I used clips to hold in place until completely set.
Shows good ear detail and good uniformity.
Has anyone tryied this or is this old news?

At least you're thinking and that's very promising. A better way of doing what you describe is to actually pour fiberglass imbedded Bondo into an earliner. Once hardened, trim it to shape. Next time you Bondo the ears, insert this rigid Bondo plug instead of an earliner. You can press it against your ear without fear of it bending or deforming the shape. Hold it till the ear heats up and the Bondo hardens and you're finished. No clips required.
Yep.... Did that a long time ago.
Nothing-new here.
I am going to make a bondo ear plug & give it a try, sounds great!
Thanks for all the great help guys!
