I dont know his age or background, but Id say try the local library for books first. Dont forget to pick up books that might help him learn more about the animal he hopes to prepare. From there you might follow the links on this site to the videos on taxidermy. If he stays with it, the next step may well be joining your state taxidermy organization, and even the regional orgs like NTA and IGT.
