salting outdoors

While salting cape outside can flies lay eggs or can it get too hot and ruin deer cape I'm in South Texas and its high 70's low 80's right now.

You are asking for tons of trouble and the maggots may be very nasty, the sub will burn it. You really dont like the cape do you?

When your away outdoors that is what the outfitter will do
Is cape It out and rub salt In every location and fold It up
The Idea Is that they'll be able to get out of the hunting area has soon has possible & give to taxidermist

Unlike john, I have never had a problem,70-80 is not to hot.

Here the weather is dry and I've never seen a maggot on one after or during salt drying.
They salt dry jerky and fish outside.
