I'm fixing to do my first deer mount, the measurments is 6 1/2 x 15 and I was wanting to order from McKenzie using the straight form. The only one I could find in the sraight look is a 6 1/2 x 16 would this be to much of a change? I'm using the dp method.Any help will be appreciated. Ronney

Just a few thoughts...

Yes, you could get away with a 16 inch neck but I think you would find it easier and end up with a nicer looking mount if a slight downsize or exact neck was used. Expect shrinkage with using DP. A half inch smaller in the neck is a good idea in my opinion. So my vote would be for finding an appropriate size form regardless of what supply company it comes from.
I know your preference is a straight form but here a couple more forms from McKenzie that should fit well.

4000 series offers a 6 1/2 x 14 1/2 x 15
6500 series offers a 6 1/2 x 15 x 15
8000 series offers a 6 1/2 x 15 x 15

Try Joe Coombs. I know he has several forms perhaps even straight that run about 6 1/2 x 14 and 6 1/2 x 15. Several other supply companies have forms in this size range.

Good luck on your first mount!

WASCO stocks smaller forms in what your looking for, an inch smaller will make your life much easier and if you stack the skin will be un-noticeable

Here is mine. When using DP you have the most stretch of any method. you should have no problem with the additional inch. Shrinkage should only be a problem in the face.
