I just skinned out and partly fleshed my red squirrel and I have a couple of questions.
1. do I need to patch the holes where he was shot?
2. I am done for the day and I would like to resume tommorrow morning, can I freeze him or should I put him in the refrigerator?
If I should freeze the hide then what would be the best way to do so?

It will thaw fast and freeze fast when layed out flat. I would order the supplies before thawing it again.
I do have the supplies I just ran out of time, A huge error on my part I suppose. thank you for the advise.
I too have just started out with a fox squirrel. i am at the stage of adding dry preserve. I too ran out of time so I applied the dry preserve and placed it in the freezer, however I folded it up so it could absorb as much preserve as possible. Will that be OK and do I have to wait a period of time after I thaw out the hide so the preserve takes hold or do I just start mounting it to the form? Thanks for your help.
