Hi:
I found an old tortoise/tarpon shell in the woods the other day and want to know if there is any way it can be preserved and repainted? Is there a paint schedule for something like this? Thanks to all for your input. Have a great day and God Bless.
Thanks Alot,
Allen

make sure of your local laws pertaining to the parcticular species as many are not allowed to be owned personally. If it is a specimen you can legally have, you can easily clean up the shell and sel it to protect using a clear laquer. as for painting, go to yahoo, and puch up some good reference photos to guide you on color placement and shading

Don't let anyone know....

Don't let anyone know you have that if you plan on keeping that. I was just scuba diving in the the Keys and I could have brought up a ton of turtle stuff, but the Divemaster told me it was illegal since most of the sea turtles are protected.
