Just getting started bleaching, I'm not a hunter and the skulls will just be decorative. The biggest problem I am having is finding specimens to work with. Is there a place where you can buy just the head of a carcass or the whole carcass?

Call your fish and game Warden he may be able to point you to some fur buyers that can help.
You might try hanging a sign at local checking stations, some people don't have there deer mounted and alot them would be happy to give them to you after they have skinned them out, also check with your local game officer to see how to to this legally.
For information on skull cleaning techniques. Bleaching can do some serious harm to bone material. Gerneally speaking - any caustic solution should be kept out of bone work.
Skull cleaning, maceration, skull whitening etc are some terms to use in your search. Also go to hidetanning.net and take alook at Superpigs info on skull preparation =)
It sounds a little out there but its true . Call DNR and make sure its okay and then start collecting your specimens.
We are starting to get into skulls. Right now, I have some llama skulls, full and half. I also have a zebra skull. I have several small animals also. Just e-mail me with what you might be interested in. If I don't have it, I will try to get it!
Its not so much gruesome as it is really difficult to walk up to something that smells that bad and pick it up..LMAO
