I was just wondering what you needed to practice taxidermy in Texas. I have my federal waterfowl permit. I know each bird has to be tagged and you need a log also. I know you have to tag each specimen with a wildlife resource document also. Do you need a cold storage log like the deer processing lockers have to keep, or is the wildlife resource document sufficient. I am new to all this and please forgive the questions. Also will the cold storage log work for the ducks or do you have to keep something else. Any info would be appreciated. I don't want to get in trouble. I have'nt took in any ducks yet.But I want to do a few for some friends but I wanted to do things legal. I have a few deer and I have the W.R.D. on them but I didnt know if I needed the log also.
Thanks !

If you look closely on your cold storage log there is a column for animal or bird types. Any game animal/migratory or game bird that goes in the freezer goes in the cold storage record book. In additon I keep a seperate log for all migratory birds, seems like it makes it a little easier to keep up with. Whether it is a law or not I'm not sure.
