i just finished a deer and its been drying for aweek,the ears seem dry already so i took a tooth brush to coomb the hair down and it wont stay ,any ideas?thanks again tim...oh i looked in search nothin,but i did read some good ideas about getting the strech back!

It would be my guess, you hair patterns were laying incorrectly after you mounted it. As it dried, it got worse. You may try a hair gel that is not oily or potters clay mud. The mud technique involves weting your hands well and rubbing some potters clay until it is muddy on your hands. Wipe the unruley hairs down with the mud and let the mud dry hard. After a couple of days, wire brush the dried mud out of the hair. Both are a 50/50 shot. Good luck. Check your patterns closely on the next deer you mount.
.....Use Whiting. Just make a paste and apply. It brushes right out when it dries.
