I am going to be entering my first competition in March and had a few questions about competing. First I was wondering what the lifetone polytranspar awards are? Do they apply to fish only? Second I was wondering if you get ribbens when you enter your piece in the Novice division? The competition is the Michigan State Taxidermy Convention, and I'll be entering Pheasant,Mallard, And Whitetail Deer. Thank.

Yes the Polytranspar & Lifetone normally apply to fish. Which divsions ribbon will be a state association call. We ribbon all our division, the novice/amateur ribbons are just smaller and they are not eligible for any major awards. Someone from the Michigan association will be more helpful.

I have been a member of the MTA for two years now and it is a wonderful organization with great people. There is much to learn from other taxidermists in the state and everyone is willing help. Glad to hear that you will be joining us! Yes the novice division ribbons. As for the polytranspar or lifetone awards I am not sure. Hope this helps looking forward to a great show!
