i have a trapped live rattler, i want to kill it, eat it, and save the skin, but me wife is freaking out about the danger of it all. i need to know how to kill it, skin it ect. with out hurting me, it or the meat

They aren't very protected, even here in PA you can catch one per year with a valid PA Fishing License.

Use a rifle, stick it in it's face just faraway enough to get it's attention, let it line up to the gun, and let'er rip!.You can get snake tan from most Taxidermy supply'ers, just follow directions.
