I looked on the archieves 1st and could not find anything. I was thinking of using a 2 pond test mono line.

I sew all visible areas with clear monofilament thread that I get at a craft store. I use a baseball stitch. Put a lot of Epo-Grip in that area or it could pull out when drying. Mabey some of the pro's can tell you about the cape tape stuff. I hear great things but never used it yet.

god bless

2 pound test is not strong enough.

The best thread I have found is a nylon thread #2040. It comes in a 4oz. cone from Van Dykes. Thin, won't unravel and very strong.

Spiderwire or Fireline

seems to be the best. Get the one that does not have any stretch to it as it holds the seam better. I usually use the 6 lbs test. Seems to work great.

And on split briskets I sew them from the fleshside with a lockstitch to where I tie off every second stitch. Makes the seam invisible.

I prefer the latter since I have 5000 yards of it in 30 and 14 pound test. Use the 14 and wrap stitch from the skin side. You'll never see it.
