question about painting eyes

I recently mounted a deer and it is completly dry now, my question is do you guys or gals paint anything around the eyes other than mod podge? I have a little discoloration in the skin that meets the tear duct. It doesnt look terrible but i would like it to look better than it does. i have mounted about eight deer and ive tried painting this area with burnt umber but it apears to be to dark. ive looked at my referances and i would like to know what colors if any that i should use. any suggestions would be appreciated thanks so much. I may be able to help you some. We paint around the eye and tear duct using Lifetones Choc. paint.

Scott,
I use a 50 50 mix of darkbrown and rich brown. Start at the tear duct and lightly mist go back around the eye and hit all the leather areas around the eyes.
