hi i have read on the forum it is very hard to skin a rabbit without ripping it can any one suggest a good way to do it for a beginner also any help on doing the head thanks

Abigail, I always make a ventral incision on cottontails and I never cut down the legs. I like using the real leg bones when possible and simply tube the legs. The shoulders are a little tougher and you can skin them over the head that way.
The tenderest skin is on the legs and around the rear. (They're designed this way so that predators can get a mouth full of fuzz and the rabbit can get away for another day.) Just be VERY CAREFUL on the legs and the butt area. If you think you have hammerhands, then get a couple and keep trying till you get it down pat. We've all been there before, just like you now.
