EZ Tan

I am just starting to tan as a hobby. I am wondering if I can use ez tan to do all my tanning projects. I will be making buckskin from deer and bear. I will also be tanning sea otter, bear, mt. goat, seal, and wolf hair on. I don't have a shop and don't want to have to deal hazardous materials. I use the leather making garments. I have used EZ tan on sea otter with success. This may be a stupid question but I am a little confused by all the differant ways to tan. I would like to find one method suitable for all.

but making anything except gloves or something out of deer skin would not me a good idea. I tried getting a mid length trench coat made out of whitetail hides and they said over time it would start to sag and look like crap. Just and idea for you!

EZ-100 is an excellent all-around Tan!

I'd recommend for tanning Weasel to Bison! It's a great all-around tan for rugging its one of your best choices.

As for leather garments - like Joe T said - I would choose Chrome tanned skins for them. Chrome tanned skins have "memory" so if you distort them they want to return to their original shape. EZ-100 skins would tend to not do this. Instead - leather Tanners would first tan the skins with Chrome - then retan them with EZ-100 to lighten the coloration and give them more fullness. Then they dye them.
