This is my second year in taxidermy. I have done as the video WASCO A-Z says to do from the start. Split, turn, salt 24hrs, then resalt. Pickle with WASCO acid batch crystals, then tan Lutan F. I oil next. My question is. My hide off measurement was Deer (a) B measurement was 18, after tanning it was 16 when I oiled it. Deer (b) B measurement was 16 1/2, after iol it was 15.. Which measurement would be best to oreder my form from? I hear guys preach to take measurements once hide is off and measure flesh. But then others preach about doing it once the hide is tanned. From my measurements which is best method? Thx Eddie

Forgot to let you know I do shave the hide down after pickle then return it to the pickle for 3-4 hours
You can end up with same measurements as when you had raw skin. I suspect you might not be rehydrating capes after salting. If you go directly to pickle from salting cape you will end up with shrunken capes... My .02 cents...
I do rehydrate after I salt, then rehydrate again after hide dries out from the oiling.....
You can freeze it after the oil has sweated in, or mount it. I wouldn't let it dry out after oiling it. If you do, how are you rehydrating it after its dry? What are your steps?
I do just as Sallie on the video says. I rehydrate in a salt/water solution..
