You need that to put up with all of us on this site. LOL
Also, the good paying job is a very good thing to have, or maybe a rich parent to pay for your learning and practice and so forth. LOL
Next would probably be a mentor/teacher. See if anyone around has a need for a shop helper, that will trade their knowledge for shop cleaning, form preping, and maybe some skinnning. You will get more practice and learn more than any other way.

They are good information! They dont need updating.

Just like you math books, the basics are still in each and everyone of them!

Now if you think they need updating,maybe you better head out to the NTA show this summer.

This is where shows really help you, the basic you can read from a book, but the advanced stuff is better seen and you get a chance to ask questions in person.
