I got a deer cape that was salt dried, when I rehydrated it the ears were turned but the cartilage and earbut is still attached to one side of the ear skin. Can I pull the rest of the cartilage off the other side w/o it tearing the earskin, I want to use plastic earliners. The skin is very thin

McKenzie sells a plastic ear liner & adheisive that is to be used without removing the cartilage I just purchased these but have'nt tryied them yet.
That is a link that will show take you through cartilage removal. Good thing to learn. Just don't be in a big hurry! If you're sending this out to be tanned I'd wait until it gets back as this aids in protecting the ear from sawdust blowouts. Have fun. Jeff F.
Thanks for all the help, the McKenzie site you turned me on to is awesome i will be using it. Thanks Thomas and Rookie
