I was wondering if anyone sees a problem with seperating the gums from the jaw through the mouth before skinning out the skull? I did a coyote this way yesterday and it seemed to be easier to make sure I have enough skin for later. let me know if anyone sees a potantial hzard here.

Perfectly acceptable.
doing it that way since I started taxidermy.
and sometimes when a customer gives me too much neck to slip the hide over the back of it, I skin the snout then cut it off the slip the hide over the front of the face and then skin the neck from front to back versus trying to skin the neck "up" or back to front with all the blood and the cape gets in the way etc, etc, i hope you know what i mean :-)
