cream tanned cape eyes cracking

I have been using rineharts tanng cream on my personnal deer capes for a couple years now,and have just noticed on my heads that are say 2 yrs old some minor cracking around the eyes,the skin notthe magic sculpt.
I thin paper thin about threeinches around the eyes with the skife knife and use rineharts hide paste .
Any ideas on what i could due differently to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

the tanning cream? Like Dan said it may be your tanning method. Shortcuts usually lead to shortcuts in quality too.
