I'm just an old duff that enjoys reading this forum. My taxidermy experience spans more than 40yrs. A lot of debate over this or that fish gloss. I've tried them all and still prefer soluvar (gloss)varnish. It will not yellow with age, can be applied in one or two coats (I prefer a brush) and gives the fish a nice wet/gloss look. It will not attack lacquer or acrylic paint and dries fairly quick with the aid of a fan.I have'nt looked in the archives for it, but I'm sure someone else has mentioned it. Available at most art stores for about $20.00 @ quart. The stuff I like is made by Liquitex. Just an old guys thoughts......
