I'm just beginning in taxidermy. For my first mount I'm trying to mount a cottontail rabbit, I've heard there not the easiest to mount, but I cant seem to get my hands on a squirrel. My question is I'm haveing problems skinning the legs, any tips or suggestions

Skin it with your hand

After making an incision in the area you want to start skinning, keeping your pose in mind, use your hands to skin the rest of the rabbit, than use a scalpel blade to get down to the toes and edges of the ears and eyes. Be very careful

I have a McKenzie standing rigid form. What incision should I use? and how do you get the skin back over all the legs without splitting them?

Jamie, didn't scroll down, did you?

Most of it's in there. I use a ventral incision and CUT THE FORM. Now just scroll down and look at the "cottontail tips" posting. You might learn something.
