Thawing bear skin

I am starting on my first bear. I have been thawing out my deer in water with biocide added. I was wondering if this method is the best for a bear or something else? All thoughts appreciated.

Mark,
I was just wondering why you thaw in water anyway. I take out frozen items the night before and leave them unwrapped on the floor or table til morning and uaually it is thawed. You could save your money on whatever it is that you are putting in the water. A bear skin usually takes a little more time, so you could just take it out earlier. I have never had a problem with a fresh skin or cape spoiling with this method.
