Deer skull problem

I've cleaned and bleached a deer skull. Apparently it was not treated very well before it got to me. The skull lines where it hooks together turned yellow, I guess from blood that was there. It would not biol out or bleach out. Can I put something in the creases like powder or what? Something that will be white and stay there. Thanks, Fred

Yellow in sutures is often a result of fats and oils. Boiling is one of the worst things to do in cases like this as the heat can actually set those fatty deposits INTO the bone. By bleaching I hope you mean an oxygen bleach like hydrogen peroxide and not a chlorinated bleach? Try some 40 volume peroxide paste on those sutures alone. If that doesn't work - paint is always an option as long as you use it sparingly and match the colour closely.
