Tell you what, you might not be a dumbass, but if you come on this site for help, then you insult the Pros that are trying to help you learn you are definately proving otherwise. These people that donate their time should actually get payed, but thats not why the do it. The time they take could very well be used in the shop. It wasnt that long ago that the Taxidermy Field was very secretive & competitive. You might even find it to still be that way in some places. Well the next time you find yourself trying to get free advise youll probably find yourself "pissing up a rope" when it comes to me giving any help. I also doubt seriously that youll receive much help from John C any more.
Chad is'nt guilty of kissing Johns ass. John C is who he is by his own merits & he has mine & many others respect. Next time you go to a Beginners site, bring w/ you a little tact, it will go a long ways.

It is understandable that the professionals are going out of their way to take their time, especially away from their money minutes...but they don't have to be nasty and ignorant. As thumper said, if you can't say nothin' nice, don't say nothin' at all. There is a professional way to answer someone's questions also, just as there is a certain way to talk with customers. Just because you may have more experience, ribbons, and can't seem to fit that old hat on your head anymore...does not mean that you should degrade, or humiliate people to make yourself look or feel better. People from all levels in life come to this net for help, we should give it to them without a mess of sarcasm. We don't have to make ourselves more secure at other peoples expense. On that note, I too just got a better rate on my car insurance...
I want to say I agree w/ you, to a certain point. This does happen where some of the responses are rude. However, I dont think John C was rude in any way to Kapster until Kapster called him a smart ass.
Look it up in the bird section.

See how easy it is.
I cant speak for John C. but I dont see anything rude or smart ass about that response. That is what the search button is there for.

If you will take a glance at the FISH forum. Please recognize the comments that John C. had to make to the Trout Head Measurement question. To me, I have seen him make comments like this many times. I think it is cruel, and unnecessary. I feel that a person can get their point across without having to be hurtful to others. I do understand your point completely in that particular situation though. Thanks for commenting back.
