I found a fox who was hit by a car. He was rather fresh, and i had no problem removing the tail. I Cut a cricle around the base of the tail, then a straight cut down the length of the tail and pulled it off. It's now hanging in my shed with salt all over it. I would like to know what I should do next, if there is any sort of treatment I could use to make the tail not so stiff and more fluid in its motion, and if I can dye the tail. If I can dye it, does anyone have any suggestions as to what i should use?
Thank you in advance! Please feel free to email me! =)

Laura , call a taxidermist and have them tan it for you . Its the only way to get it soft . Thats what were here for . Rick
I'm sure there are some sort of oils I could use without contacting a taxidermist. I'd really rather do this on my own. If I were going to give up that easy, I would have gone to one in the first place, and not bother to post here.
