I was wondering if anybody new that fastest way to clean out all of the skin sheds of the dermestid beetles. I have been raising my colony for a month and their skins are really piling up. Thanks

Chris,
I've searched the archives and posted this question several times, but nobody has ever responded so there either isn't an answer or nobody seems to have time to respond. If you find out, let me know.

How to clean it

Just use a dust buster with the narrow attachment to suck up all the skins and frass. When you clean a skull put it on a paper plate at a slight angle with the skull at the top, all the trash will shift to the bottom of the plate and you can vacuum it out easily. Most of the time you will vacuum up healthy beetles and larvae so you want to empty the dust buster into a cup and leave it in your tank a few days so that the good beetles can crawl back out. Make sure you buy a dust buster just for beetle cleaning and seal it in a plastic bag (charger and all) when not in use. You want to buy replacement filter more often also, in case of mite infestations and such.

Hope that answers the question, e-mail me if you need any other help.
Wolf
