tanning my first hide a mink i used the home made recipe salt and alum it said us neets foot oil to get softcan i get that locally at a store. a pharamcy .i have fish oil will that work. thanks for info.

Pharmacy fish oil is not the same!
Even though neets foot oils may be made from fish it is not considered edible.
The correct ptoduct always works better than some off the wall idea.
Is usually a feed store that sells stuff for horses. People use it on horse hoofs sometimes. It will be labled as neets foot oil plain and simple.
thanks scott for your nice response. i check local feed stores. to john c. i got the recipe on reeltrees websight first of all neets foot oil is not made from fish its made from animal hooves.second maybe you should go to the shoe department and try and find a shoe big enough for your head.
you had a expert like John C. give you some good advice. Neets foot oil is NOT the best oil for what you want to use it for. Check in the tanning archives, and get your ass back here and apologize to him!
