I received a large Cape Eland cape to mount. Only one problem. The skinner removed the cartilage completely from the ear. The ear only has the backside of the skin. It is a lose peace of skin. The client however brought the front piece of cartilage with.
Questions.
How would you propose I fit this peace of cartilage to the back piece of skin?
I use the bondo method.
1. I was thinking in taking metal fly screen and cutting out the same shape of the ear.
2. Tape up the edges of the fly screen with masking type.
3. Sew the cartilage and the back skin together and then use a thick bondo past.
Any other suggestions.
Regards
Jaco
