I believe that killing animals and hanging their heads up on a wall is sinful! They should be running around in the wilderness free. It is not something to be proud of to have an animal's limb hung on the wall as a "trophy". I think it's one thing to "stuff" an animal when they have died from natural causes and you are honoring a missed friend, but to do it as a sport? Whats going to happen next... your going to go outside and have target practice on the neighbors?! I think hunting, poaching, and taxodermy are all a horrific act. Please consider this information and think about wild life, so maybe our chilcren will be able to enjoy these creatures in the furture! Thank you... PEACE OUT!

Truth is that animals need to be managed, they cant do it themselves- well they can- but it is way better for us to harvest them than it is for mother nature to harvest them. Mother nature is a cruel mistress sometimes. But i have a feeling that if you got your way and things weren't managed and things started starving and getting diseases because of overpopulation that would someway be our fault too. If you ever decide to enjoy the outdoors versus trying to save it from your SUV then look a taxidermist up and get a nice piece of art to honor an animal.
If it wasn't for Sportsmen there wouldn't be as many bunnies and other animals running around as there are. Wildlife managment is done by sportmen. There are rules regulating what we hunt fish and trap and how many can be taken. It is only surplus animals that are harvested. Surplus animals are ones that would normally starve to death because of lack of food, water and shelter. An area that has a certain amount of food water and habitat can only hold a certain number animals and only certain species. This is called carrying capacity. Only so many animals can live in an area. If ther are to many animals in an area they all suffer and can starve. They also can get diseased and it kills off all of them, Most animals aren't meant to be to close together. This carrying capacity area varys in size depending on food water and shelter available. If a bunny hugger builds a house in the middle of a wooded area it reduces the carrying capacity. That means that less animals can live there. In other word you killed some animals off. The more houses built the less room for animals. Some animals can adapt to change others die because they don't have one of the three needs inorder to survive.Some try to migrate to a new area. They cross a road and get hit by a car or limp off and die. Others are eaten by predators. Letting all animals go free would wipe out total populations of animals. They were bred for thousands of years to be domesticated for food and work. They would stand as much of a chance to survive in the wild as you would. As far as taxidermy goes it has been around since Egyption times. It has become an art form. It is also a way to use all parts of an animal that God gave us. If it wasn't for the sportsmen there would be a lot less animals around. Probably even more that would be extinct if it wasn't for us
man is in charge of conserving spieces and helping to keep a balance to nature and if u dont like taxidermey and hunting for sport then y the hell u in here so go away and to all u conservationist awsome job keep it up.

I forgot you mentioned poaching. All sportsmen are against poaching, We all feel it is a horrific CRIME. Poaching has nothing to do with hunting. It is a crime and it is enforced. Breaking a game law is a form of poaching. To throw that into the same sentance as hunting and taxidermy shows what little you really know about animals welfare.Once you get your facts straight and realize the good we do for the wildlife then you might find it in your heart to thank us for helping to have such an abundance of animals for you and everyone else to enjoy.

Hey tree hugger I'm a hunter and proud of it and getting started in taxidermy. 1 Question......do you eat meat, chicken, pork, fish. ect.do you have a leather coat wallet purse shoes ect....LOOK in your own back yard before you preach god to us about what you beleave in. you tree huggers make me sick. when i go turkey hunting i have to pay $21.50 for the licence just to hunt them then i go sit in the bush from 4 am on and might not even get to harvest one you can go buy one from the store that never had a chance live mine does so next time you fire up the BBQ think of that pore pore animal that was KILLED for you to eat HEY TREE HUGER ( PEACE OUT )

Do you know how our local poultry processing plant kills the chickens for your chicken McNuggets. They hang them by their feet on a conveyor, and move the line across a high voltage wire at the height of the chicken's head and ZAP. Killing steers for your steaks and fish can be described more graphic. As the posts above explain, the sportsman of this country pay high priced licenses to hunt & fish and a lot of that money goes to wild life preservation. If not for this funding, everyone wouldn't be enjoying the return of wild turkeys and deer as well as other species. How much did you donate to wildlife preservation? Every sportsman has and will every year he/she buys a license.

The only time that I have ever been in any kind of "physical dispute" was with someone like you. There was a report on the radio at work. It was about a mountain lion that had drug a little kid away from his mother and killed him. Then killed the mother who tried to chase the lion away. then mauled a biker who later died. Once it said the lion was caught and euthanized, all the man could say was "that poor cat". I got so mad that I hit him.
If it wasnt for sportsmen like us, this would happen way more than it does now. I dont care what all you tree huggin, unedgicated fools say. Managment is a key roll in the conservation of our wildlife. Im not talking about poachers here. Ethical sportsmen are the best way to manage wildlife. We not only manage the animals, but we put money back into the system. Where as paid mangment control only takes it out. I pay over $300 a year in just license and tags in my home state. Even more when I travel to others.
Trust me, a gun or bow shot is a hell of a lot less cruel than nature.
