Hi could anyone tell me why somebooks say to remove the head compleatly and glue back on.I know you can use a reproduction head but wondering why to remove if using the real head.Also I have a fallow deer fawn skin and cannot find a form for it.Can you use a whitetail form? Thanks for any sugestions John W

it's all about which you're more comfortable with in the long run.. I use artifical at times and the real head at others. I've gotten used to the process of using the artifical and in my opinion you can clean the skull and the scalp more efficiently if you remove the entire head. The process is easy enough and saves a neck incision on most waterfowl...
However, even if you don't remove the head, you can accomplish the same results the old fashioned way...
Also, it's very convienient to be able to use both incase you run into a real head that isn't salvageable.
