I have a friend that will be travelling 1200 miles to go turkey hunting. What should he do to insure the bird will be good upon delivery when traveling such a distance. The archives dealt with turkeys that weren't traveling great distances from what I could find. Thanks for any ideas. Peace- Jeff F.

Its hard to say from your post, but Ill assume he is traveling by land, thus the time concerns of mileage. Boy, you cant hardly beat those big fish coolers if you have one. Also, lining a trunk, heavy box or similar with that 2 inch foam board really keeps em cold, provided you pack them with bagged ice. I like to double bag the ice so while melting it doesnt get sopping wet. Wrap the turk in a towel, and place on and in those ice bags, and check it out when gassing up.
Will do!
