? i'm sorry for my lack of knowledge
just want to say how do you call the thing you do to the velvet antlers ? to put off the blood in it that's it ?
in french it "dérougir" ?
and how do you do that ? by simply soaking them in water?

I believe you are refering to injecting.
there are some different processes for antlers in velvet.
one process involves injecting the velvet with a solution like
velvet tan or preserves-it. a syringe is used for injecting. the
solutions are also applied to the outside of the velvet as well.
the other process is freeze drying. this process also involves injecting the velvet, but after the injection step, the velvet is perferated. Perferation is simply polking holes in the velvet with a
needle. this allows the moisture to escape when in the freeze dry chamber.
ok thanks
but in fact a french tax told me that he soaked the antlers in cold wtaer so that the blood melted with water
then , he tans them in a tanning solution and then with formol before drying them?
is it correct ? if yes how is this process called ?
I couldn't argue with him. it obviously works for him.
cold water will dilute the blood. I defer to laundry basics for blood
stains. always rinse in cold water before washing, and then wash in
cold water to prevent the stain from setting in the fabric.
