Galvanized wire is coated with a non ferrous metal, so that the wire will not rust. I thing that galvanizing refers to tin coating.
Glycering used to be added to a lot of things to keep skins and miscellaneous parts soft. I used to use it, along with formaldehyde, to inject bird feet. I have heard of taxidermists adding it to fish and bird preservative solutions to keep the skins from getting too brittle. I have never don this myself.
The difference between a fur drum and a tumbler would be size. A tumbler would be used to DRY bird(and other skins). The Drum would be used in the tanning process to dry and SOFTEN(break) furs.
Shaving beam and fleshing beam could be the same. I use a "fleshing" beam to take the flesh and fat off my hides before salting. I have much smaller "shaving" beams(or tools) to do the finish work on the faces of the skins that I am preparing to mount. Technically the fleshing process and the shaving process are different but the beam could be the same one, used in both cases.
Shellac is the processed parts of some insect that is disolved in alcohol to be used as a sealer(primer).
The term "lifesize" is used to designate a skin that is used for that purposed. To a taxidermist the term MEANS that everything is there and the skin can be mounted as a lifesize mount.
Galvanization is the process of coating wire with zinc to inhibit rust.
