NEED HELP

I just got a pair of ringnecks but they are still alive and i am not sure how to put them down with out messing up the bird if anyone has any ideas how to do this with no damage please let me know thanks

to take a syringe with alchohol and insert it in the brain of the bird(there is a soft spot where the head and neck connect)and inject the alchohol into the brain that way ..........very quick kill on a bird.........if you have a dead bird already try to find the spot on it 1st before trying it on a live bird........

Hunter,

I've raised these for years and I've taken a few for taxidermy use. Since you don't have gas, what I do is to hold tight with one arm like hugging a football, then cup their head in your hand with your thumb under the throat, then squeeze with your thumb, in essence you are suffocating them. It's quick and humane and it doesn't damage the plumage. Hope this helps...

Hunter this is how i kill my birds, Firsr thing i do is to put the bird in a cloth feed sack this calms the bird down then fill a barrel with water hold the bird under water until it stops moving,usally under a minute. ED

Take a syringe of acetone, hold the bird and raise the wing. In a spot under the wing inject the acetone towards the heart or lungs. The bird will go within seconds.

Alchol works good

Have done it quite a few times , just use between 2.5 to 3.0 cc's
and the bird will just go to sleep after about 15-20 seconds. No fuss No muss
