Is DP better than tanning...........JUST KIDDING!
Question......if a beginner applied DP to a whitetail
cape that was still a little wet....and then popped it
into the freezer, should "I" make sure that all, if any
clumps are scraped off and apply more DP before mounting?

Do not apply D.P until you are ready to mount...period
But this time, he's right. If you can, wash all the DP off when you thaw it. Towel dry and then reapply the DP making sure there are no clots.
A video I own by "Bill Atkins" said to freeze a DP'd cape if it is going to be a few days before mounting it.
Wolf,
When I bring in a deer to mount that I'm going to use DP on. I will knock it off the skull and then freeze it. A few weeks befor I am ready to mount it I thaw it out and turn and flesh everything. Then I wash them in a mixture of Basycril NB-KU and Kemal 4 and let them soak for about 20 minutes. I rinse the cape hang for 30 minutes to drain. Towel dry ( get as much moisture off as possible) and my DP. I put it in the freezer until I am ready to mount. I have had them in the freezer for up to a month with DP on them but I try not to leave them in their for more than 2 weeks. When I pull them out to mount I will some times knock off old DP and add more. Hope this helps. I've never had a DP'd cape slip on me yet. If you have any more questions wolf E-mail me!

anytime I've dp'd before freezing I've had major shrinkage. If I'm gonna dp, I do it the last thing before actually putting it on the form. BP
