Newbie Questions on taxidermy a snake

Hello,

I am new to the whole taxidermy scene, I would like to try to taxidermy a snake for my 1st project.

I ordered the Rittel kit (the SSK-10 kit 2 liquid bottle kit) and also ordered the Preservz-It solution too.

Am I on the right track? where do I start, etc. Maybe the kit will have some instructions.

If anyone can give me a step by step instruction or point me to somewhere that might explain the basics I would really appreciate it.

Thanks alot,
John

Neither kit will have any info on snake mounting. Preserve it is not necessary and neither is the tan kit. Get the reptile and anphibian manual or order the wetnwild snake mount video. This should do the trick for you. Also get some good reference photos , as this is a must.

Follow the link in the reptile section on a post regarding Evelyn Mills, and follow her sinstructions on skinning and fleshing. For a tamp mount, read carefully, if using a mannequin, get the video.

Thanks!
