Can slippage happen after rehydrating a tanned hide?

I bought a tanned racoon and now I have to measure it to order a mount. After I soak this in a salt water solution can I just let it air dry? Will there be any risk of slippage? Thanks alot! -Sam

Freeze it

After you soak it up and sweat it for measurements, just put it in a plastic bag and freeze it.

I know what sweating a hide is but how do you soak it up and sweat it?

Place in water

Untill saturated. Then place in plastic bag in frig overnight
