Hi all, I just finished mounting my first squirrel and it turned out suprisingly well. I mounted it in a running up/looking right position. I want to put him directly on the wall of an archway in the house so it looks like he is running up the arch. There are no wires in the form. My question I guess is what would be the best way to hang him so that there is no visible support? It would have to be on the feet, since those are all that would actually touch the wall. I thought of trying to pin his feet to the wall but do not know if that would be supportive enough. Any thoughts or recomendations would be appreciated.
Thanks
Vince

Are you sure the chest or belly area doesn't also touch the wall? On most of the free-standing wall mounts I've done on squirrels there has been an area on the underside of the body that also touched the wall or brushed it. And, to hang my squirrels, I simply bend off the pop top to a soda or beer can, take a small, short screw and screw it to that spot on the suqirrel that touches the wall. If you bend the pop top out just a bit you have enough room for the head of a tack or broad nail to fit into the hole and hold the squirrel in place on the wall.
Hi Vince Try putting a wall hanger on his belly and run a screw in the wall but don't run the screw to far down. just enough that the feet hit the wall .
Vince, If the wall is plaster of dry wall, you dont have alot of options, if the archway is paneled, maybe take the panel off and use small screws from the inside out into the bottom of the feet. Or mount the squirl to a small tree branch, then the branch to the wall.
Cut little pieces of self sticking velcrow (spelling) I have used it for other things, even a small piece is very strong. Just a thought.
Thanks for all the ideas. After looking at this again I find that the belly is only about 1/4"-1/2" off the wall and since it will be against the wall will try something on the belly.
Again, thanks
