2" incision on neck noticeable after deer has been mounted

I noticed after the deer has been drying that there is a 2" incision hole that is noticeable on the neck in front of the deer. I had a form that was very tight fitting and did an extreme amount of pulling during the form fitting and sewing process. I am just wandering if rehydrating the area, if I am going to be able to pull it back in place since it was such tight fit. I have attempted to brush it but I can still see it .. Any suggestions would help as to what you think would help. Thank You?

You've committed a common error for a lot of beginners. NEVER, EVER mount a cape on a form bigger than the measurements. That seemingly simple act will lead to a group of other problems down the line. Rehydrating your skin is not going to solve your problem. Natural drumming of the hide is only going to expose you to this again.

MY suggestion is you use the technique I've described here before. Open the hair to expose the incision. Run a FINE bead of clear silicone bathtub caulk down the stitches. From the backside of your mount clip a finger full of hair, holding it tightly. Then stick the "root" ends of the hair in the silicone. Now with a spray bottle of water, mist the hide until somewhat soaked. Take the palm of your hand and press the original hair back into place trapping your "transplant". Now walk away and don't touch it for a day. Then come back with a soft bristle brush and brush your hair to give it a natural and not pasted down look. IF the added hair is too long, carefully snip it off with a pair of scissors.
