Bird Heads

I put a question a question in the bird forum, but it didn't really get a good answer. I am wondering if you are using the read head can you just cape out the head like you were using a cast head and glue it back on the real head after it is cleaned rather then making a throat or cheek incision. Will it work, I haven't tried yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't and you wouldn't have to stitch an incision. Are there any problems with gluing the skin around the bill back alright or will it just not work? Any info would be great.
Thanks,
Brian

Yes you can and it will work fine.. You just have to rebuild the muscle you removed and repair the shrinkage. Make sure you rebuild the area right adjacent to the bill itself. The thin membrane that may or may not be present after skinning will become paper thin and as fragile as rice paper.. this needs to be epoxied in so that you have something solid to glue back to.

Good Luck,
Jon
