Can you guys/gals tell me the best way to use Rittels blood eater? Do I salt it then use it to relax the hide before the pickle or do I put it in with the pickle? I bought a bottle of it and it had no instructions with it. Thanks a ton.

Coyote
Kevin,
Coyote is right, by all means contact Bruce on using the the bloodeater. I will add though, that when I rehydrate my capes with his ultra soft, I add some blood eater into the mix and it takes care of any blood that was there. I salt and dry the capes rock hard, then rehydrate. I mix 15 tablespoons of ultra soft with 5 tablespoons of bloodeater for every 10 gallons of water needed. No salt or anything else is added. This will soften and clean the blood out of the capes even on the ones that didn't look like it needed it. You will also find that your pickle and tanning solutions will be cleaner.
