Hi ,
I was wondering if someone could tell me how to paint a turkey head. The step-by-step process would be GREAT. Im sorry to bother with a silly question, but your help would be appreciated. Thanks
Serina

this is for a freeze dryed head.first you need to take a solf brass brush & brush the head to remove any dry skin off. then i wipe the head down with so acatone to remove any thing eles on the head.i then take some white with a few drops of brown to watch the color of the head & mist to give the head a even color. i start with the "light' colors first. white on the crown, then my blues on the nap of the neck .darker at the base then lighter as i go up the neck.then to the check area & you may want to but a light mist of bule on the snoot were it meets the crown.next is the red , you will need to hold your air brush tight to the ridges you are painting to help cut down on over spray, but it will happen & make a purple coler with the blue on the neck. paint the walddes & snoot red. then i may take the white & tone down some of the white on the neck.forgot the "red' eye ring. after the head is done & eyes cleaned i but a light coat of sealer on the head. not much just want to seal the paint turkeys heads have a light shine to them just like you skin so dont over do it here.
hope this helps you some Tim

Erin, don't rely on anyone's paint schedule

I'd never put any kind of liquid on a freeze dried head for fear of reversing the process. Seal it and paint it. Once sealed, all else will fall into line. USE GOOD REFERENCE MATERIALS. No paint schedule will help if you don't have a live picture reference to see the proper blending and colors. And always touch up the "hairs" after everything is painted. Either clean them off or use mascara to add contrast and realism.
