I got an elk that has a broken third and fifth points. The customer wants them fixed back to normal. I am just looking for someone to point in a direction to solve these broken points. I have done some minor repairs before but not whole points. Thanks for any help.

If you still have the broken off points, I drill a hole in them and then a hole in the beam big enough for a heavy gauge wire to fit into. Then glue the wire into the point with epoxy and glue it into the beam. Smooth the seam out with some Apoxie Sculpt and stain it to match.
If you don't have the points, I would suggest casting the points off of the other side and using them. Either way, good luck and make sure you charge enough for it.

Les has good advise but, Use a wire armature attached via a hole in the break with apoxie glue and then apoxie sculpt the antler the best you can. When thats dry file and sand it to what you what. I first paint the repair white and then using acilic tube paints I paint the colors to match; I also use a matt medium to dull the colors. You will never get it right with just stain. I also use a dremel tool to sculpt in the little lines and bumps on the repair before painting. This year I have about 50 points to repair here. I charge $5.00 per inch. The drought in the west has resulted in weak tines and they break easy when first out of the velvet.
