I use regular bakery or kite string to wrap all my bodies. You can purchase it in large quanity spools. And It's cheaper than using fishing line. Some people will disagree with this, but I use fishing line for my sewing only. As for wire I used 16ga. wire when I wrapped bodies for squirrels, and 14 if I was out of 16. Dampen your excelsior before you start wrapping your body, it'll help for a tighter body and it'll help when forming it. And I said damp not wet. Also make sure it's dry before inserting it into the skin. I now purchase all my squirrel bodies, unless I want a mount I can't find. Then I do I carcass cast. I also use the Flex-Tails for my mounts. And do the tail seperate from the skin.
