I dont have enough money to keep going to the commercial tannery every time I have something to tan, so I was wondering if there is another agent out there that will dry tan furs like them? If there is, do I need any other accessories (like a clothing dryer or sawdust) to get my furs soft and pliable? I wet-tanned a batch of furs awhile back with EZTan, but even though they were oiled and hand-worked afterward, they still came out kinda more stiff than I wanted. Plus, the hassle was enormous! If I could get some help here, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks! E-mail or post!

Since you're already learned the obvious, your argument seems rather weak. I don't know where you're getting your tanning done, but a soft tan on a deer hide costs me $35 plus shipping (that's why I do them in batches), but for the labor intensity involve of the industrial equipment required, that's but a fraction of what it would cost me to do it myself. The answer to your question is that you'll find it very difficult to get professional results using anything less than the best professional equipment.
