whats the ratio of aluminum sulfate, borax, and salt for an oil for the step before finishing the hide....is this even right?

No Oil is involved in that mixture - so could you instead be referring to a type of tanning mixture? What you use for ingredients sounds a lot like an old time Alum mixture. Try to clear that up and perhaps you will get an answer to the question.
