Someone please help me. My husband shot an elk about 8 years ago, and left the hair on the hide. It has made permanent residence on the foot rail of our bed. The problem is after so many years the hair has begun to fall off, and is now bald in some places, and for the sake of sentimental value, my husband refuses to get rid of it. Can someone please tell me how to keep the hair from falling off?

Take it outside and spray it down with denatured alcohol out of a spray bottle.Sometimes that'll do the trick.
