Removing hide water based hide paste from deer hide?

Hi All,

I'm mounting my third deer and got a little ahead of myself and didn't test fit my hide to the form before applying the hide paste. Well the form was too big so I have to make modifacations to it. Is there any way to easily remove the hide paste? Can I use soap and water? Will it hurt letting the paste dry before removal?

Yes water will remove it. As to the cape, wash it out and dry hair then refreeze until you get your new form. Hopefully you tanned it.

Sure did :-)
